PAM-Africa

The June 2025 peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has renewed global interest in the Great Lakes Region of Africa. In the current landscape of conflict resolution efforts and negotiating peace in the Great Lakes Region, the Peace Accords Matrix (PAM)- Africa program project seeks to  provide a variety of research and advisory tools to peace process stakeholders.

In order to deploy PAM’s robust expertise in evidence-based guidance on peace accord design and comparative analysis on accord implementation, the current project activities  are geared  towards gaining a deeper understanding of the conflict context and collaborating with local stakeholders. To this end, PAM Africa is developing  stakeholder analyses through convening meetings, interviews, and workshops.

PAM’s work in the Great Lakes region is supported by a grant from the Vitol Foundation, an independent, Swiss-registered foundation that invests in organisations that strengthen the resilience of the most overlooked communities.

To help amplify local peacebuilding in the Great Lakes region, the Peace Accords Matrix is seeking to connect and collaborate with local civil society organizations. To explore opportunities for collaboration, contact our team at [email protected].
