Support

To address the many violent conflicts which negatively impact human dignity and flourishing around the world, the PAM team is pioneering innovations in peace process research and real-time monitoring of peace accord implementation. By learning how and why peace accords succeed or fail, PAM helps peacebuilders and policymakers escape the destructive cycles of violence and war. Through its integration of academic research on peace accords, practical innovations, and technical support, PAM strives to put an end to protracted civil wars and find new solutions for lasting peace.

Measuring PAM’s impact on the ground

Among other findings, PAM’s tracking of implementation has provided evidence-based research concluding that:

  • countries can escape the conflict trap by implementing comprehensive peace agreements;
  • robust implementation of comprehensive peace agreements increases foreign investment, reducing poverty, infant mortality, human rights violations and increasing rates of access to health and education;
  • and built-in safeguards, like the verification of implementation by third-parties such as PAM, shows an increase in success rates by over 47%.

Notre Dame’s mission

Firmly anchored in Notre Dame’s mission to be a force for good in the world, PAM is committed to finding pathways out of civil war towards sustainable peace in the pursuit of human flourishing. PAM embodies Notre Dame’s commitment to conduct research at the highest level animated by a distinctive Catholic mission.

How to Support PAM

The work of PAM is only made possible through those who believe in the power of research-driven peacebuilding. As we look to another decade of solutions, the current landscape requires further investment to solve some of these intractable problems.

Individual and family donors are crucial for maintaining our work. PAM’s impact on vulnerable and fragile contexts encourages individuals and donors to sponsor our research and field units, offer fellowships for students and alumni to work on cutting edge research, and equip policymakers and communities with the tools they need for peacebuilding. PAM invites supporting gifts from those who want to have a direct impact on individuals and communities that have suffered armed conflict, and are embarking on the path of peace and reconciliation.

Donating to the Peace Accords Matrix can be as simple as making a small cash contribution through our secure donation page or collaborating with us on a larger project. Click here to learn more about the online giving process.
