UN Peacekeeping Force – 1997

UNTAES plans and starts a phased drawdown of its troops. As of 31 August, the force contained 2,385 troops, 412 civilian police, and 101 military observers.¹ By 15 November 1997, UNTAES completes phase two of the drawdown of forces. Only 800 military troops remain.²
