Reintegration – 2002

The government had not yet developed a comprehensive policy on rural development, which impeded progress on the definitive integration of URNG ex-combatants. Housing projects for reintegrated former combatants progressed, but the purchase of land through the Land Trust Fund did not. The government cut back the budget allocation for the commission set up in the previous year to monitor the integration of the URNG.¹
