The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Sergio Vieira de Melo, took a 2 week trip to Angola to tour conditions and meet with leaders.1 Lerena Pinto, a Human Rights Division specialist at the United Nations Office in Angola, told reporters in March that the number of human rights violations had dropped throughout Angola.2
