Disarmament – 2011

After contested elections in 2010 and the subsequent capturing of former president Gbagbo, some progress was made towards disarming former militias. Between June and December 2011, 828 weapons and 220,265 rounds of ammunition were collected from an estimated 1,300 combatants in 29 different locations.¹
