Arms Embargo – 1992

UNTAC had set up checkpoints along the borders between Cambodia and its three neighboring countries. Mobile military units had also been employed to monitor and investigate whether there are foreign troops remaining in Cambodia. UNTAC took these initiatives to verify not only the withdrawal of Vietnamese troops but also to make sure that the Cambodian parties would not get any military support from outside.¹
