The draft bill was submitted to the parliament in January1 and the parliament passed the bill on 11 June.2

The law clearly outlined issues related to the management and revenue sharing of natural resources. Articles 156-162 were related to revenues from oil and gas, forestry, fisheries and general mining, including the management of these natural resources. According to the law, Aceh would have control of over 70% of revenues from the province’s oil and gas production, and would receive an extra 2% allocation from the national budget for reconstruction for 20 years.
